Courses for Practitioners
Elklan have a course to suit you whether you are an early years worker, teacher, SENCO, assistant, health visitor, care worker or support worker.
You can study any of our core courses and then go on to complete one of the specialist courses to develop your skills in a specific area.
Core Courses
- Speech and Language Support with Under 5's
Speech and Language Support in the Classroom
Speech and Language Support for 11-16's
Speech and Language Support for Post 16's
Speech and Language Support for Verbal Children with ASD
Speech and Language Support for Vulnerable Young People (those in youth offending institutions or pupil referral units etc) - Communication support for children with severe and complex needs (runs for 7 sessions)
All of the courses run for 20 hours and are normally delivered weekly.
Specialist Courses

- Supporting children with Hearing Difficulties
Supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
Supporting children with Unclear speech
Learners must have completed a Core Course before attending a Specialist Course.
All of the courses listed above run for 10 hours over 5 sessions and are accredited at Open College Network levels 2 and 3; participants can gain 6 credits at the level at which they choose to study.
