Training for SaLTs and Specialist Teachers: Elklan Total Training Package for 3-5s

Recent research states that early language skills are 'key to later success'.
"Gareth Jenkins, from Save the Children, says the research demonstrates for the first time the most crucial determinant of success in SATS tests is how well children can communicate when they start school. The poorest children are more likely to start school without simple skills, such as being able to tell a short story, express feelings and communicate easily with a wide range of adults"

Research completed by academics at the Institute of Education who analysed the progress of 5,000 children using data from the Millennium Cohort Study and the National Pupil Database in England. and reported by the BBC Feb 17th 2016. Source: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-35476433

Elklan's evidence based Speech and Language Support for 3-5s is our newly updated and highly successful externally accredited training course which equips staff to develop these key communication skills in children proved to ensure later success in school. It is the only accredited training in speech, language and communication that is aimed specifically at the early years workforce.

Training with others

Elklan supports collaborative practice and is keen to promote SaLTs and specialist teachers training together. However we are aware that this is not always possible so many SaLTs train on their own and we are currently enabling specialist teachers who meet certain criteria to train in isolation. The following downloads will give more information on the requirements and procedure.
