Training for Practitioners
Training for Practitioners
We offer training for those working with children or young people in early years settings, childminders, schools, FE colleges and other specialist provisions.
All our courses are evidence-based and teach strategies listed on the What Works database. Most of our courses are now available as blended e-learning, giving you the best of both worlds: an opportunity to learn key information via our e-learning platform AND weekly one-hour webinars providing support and interaction from an Elklan tutor and other colleagues. Face-to-face training is also available.
When you attend one of our practitioner courses, you will receive everything you need to complete the course successfully:
Training from a licenced Elklan tutor
A resource book from our Language Builders series, packed full of information, strategies and ideas to help you as you develop your children's communication and oral language skills
Access to the Learner's Area of our website, containing a wealth of information to support you on your Elklan journey
The opportunity to complete our bespoke e-Learning Log, enabling you to submit your work online, and have it marked and returned by your Elklan Tutor
Support from your tutor and the Elklan team whilst completing your Elklan training
All our courses are designed to help you support the communication skills of all children and young people - as well as those with identified speech, language and communication needs.
Some courses are tailored for practitioners working with certain age groups, while others are for those supporting children and young people with specific learning challenges.
A wide range of eight- and ten-session courses accredited at Levels 2-3.
Practitioners are welcome to apply for our Level 1 courses which are also suitable for parents and carers.
In addition to our accredited courses above, we offer the following non-accredited training workshops suitable for practitioners as well as parents and carers:
