Supporting Children with Unclear Speech

A practical training course for those of you who would like to learn how to take children through an effective therapy programme to help them speak clearly

About the course

This course is for those of you who are working with children and young people whose speech is unclear. The pupil you are working with needs to have a SaLT assessment, then you will be guided through the implementation of a speech programme with them. Our online resource, Sound Builders, provides you with step by step guidance which you can also share with families.

We offer both face-to-face and online training. Both cover the same superb content and are taught by our experienced Elklan Tutors using interactive teaching methods, practical activies, videos and group discussions.

Face-to-face courses are delivered over two consecutive days with a half day session eight weeks later (this may be delivered via webinar).

The online training runs over 3 weekly webinars, with a further one-hour webinar eight weeks later.

Whichever delivery model you choose, you will complete a learning log which details the therapy you provide the pupil. If you work with a child over 4 years of age who has delayed speech sound development, then this course is for you!

Whilst it is advisable that you complete a core Elklan course first, this is not a requirement.
