Courses for Practitioners: Speech and Language Support for 11-16sstyle="margin-left: 20px;"
A practical training course for staff working in secondary schools to provide new approaches and strategies to help them maximise the young people’s speech, language and communication potential and effectively differentiate the curriculum. Delivered by local tutors throughout the UK it gives practical advice and strategies which are also suitable for children with English as an additional language and other special educational needs. This course is for SENCO’s, secondary school teachers, teaching assistants and speech and language therapy assistants.
What will participants receive?
A Level 3 or Level 2 Award in Knowledge and Practice to Support the Communication Skills of 11-16’s. A portfolio of evidence will need to be submitted.
How is it delivered?
Designed to be delivered over ten weekly sessions, it may also be taught as an intensive three day programme. Each session lasts two hours. The course uses interactive teaching methods, practical activities, videos and group discussion to engage learners.
