Courses for Practitioners
Elklan is entering an exciting phase of the company’s journey by expanding outside of the UK. Elklan offers a unique opportunity to empower those working with children and young people to develop their communication and language abilities. Elklan courses are statistically proven to lead to improving the communication and language of children impacting on their opportunities in life.
Elklan courses have been highly successful in the UK with over 60,000 practitioners gaining an Elklan qualification. We are pleased to offer them now to international audiences through Elklan’s e-learning platform.
Elklan has adapted our highly successful face-to-face ‘Speech and Language Support’ courses into e-learning packages. They provide practical knowledge and tools through interactive sessions with the additional bonus of live, small group, weekly webinars with an experienced Elklan Tutor. These courses can be completed from anywhere in the world with an internet connection, which is perfect under current circumstances. Learners enjoy quality-assured learning and have the chance to gain an accredited qualification.
How Elklan e-learning works
Elklan complete e-learning courses are made up of four components:
These form the base of the course. There are ten interactive sessions, completed one per week in your own time. The sessions are full of activities and videos, creating a fun learning environment.
Live Tutor Webinars
Learners meet online with their course tutor in live webinars once a week throughout the ten weeks of the course. These are designed to support what has been learned during the e-learning sessions. The Tutor leads a discussion with a group of no more than 9 participants, giving the chance to share experiences and ask questions to reinforce your knowledge.
An e-book version of the course textbook is accessible on computers, tablets and mobiles. This adaptation of the classic 'Language Builders' provides practical solutions to support the course. Learners are given a time-limited discount to purchase a hard copy at half-price plus postage and packaging.
Accreditation is gained by completing the Learning Log - a record of your application of Elklan methods with the children and young people with whom you work. You will answer a series of questions, marked by your Elklan Tutor. Once you have sucessfully completed your course and Learning Log, you will be awarded with an accredited certificate.
