Courses for Practitioners: Speech and Language Support for 5-11s
A practical training course for staff working in primary schools to enable them to develop the speech and language skills of ALL children but especially those with speech and language difficulties. Delivered by local tutors throughout the UK it gives practical advice and strategies which are also suitable for children with English as an additional language and other special educational needs. Over 7,000 people have already completed this training and found it has helped them to differentiate the curriculum more effectively.
What do participants receive?
A Level 3 or Level 2 nine credit Award in Knowledge and Practice to Support the Communication Skills of 5-11s – both levels are now on the QCF! A portfolio of evidence will need to be submitted.

How is it delivered?
Designed to be delivered over ten weekly sessions (each session lasts two hours), it may also be taught as an intensive three day programme, or as an e-learning course over ten one-hour webinar sessions. The course uses interactive teaching methods, practical activities, videos and group discussion to engage learners.

How much does it cost?
Local providers vary the price. If supplied by Elklan the current fee is £375 to include the accreditation fee and the book. The current fee for Elklan elearning courses is £320*.
* The price will increase to £335 for all e-learning courses that start after 1st October 2017.
There will be a further increase to £350 from 1st September 2018.
