Courses for Practitioners: Speech and Language Support for Pupils with SLD
A practical training course for staff working in with children and young people with severe learning difficulties (SLD) to provide new approaches and strategies to help them maximise their speech, language and communication potential and effectively differentiate the curriculum. Designed for SENCO’s, teachers, teaching assistants and speech and language therapy assistants working within a wide variety of settings including special schools, units, mainstream schools and FE colleges.
What will participants receive?
A nine credit award at either Level 3 or Level 2 in Speech and Language Support for Pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties. A portfolio of evidence will need to be submitted.
How is it delivered?
Designed to be delivered over ten weekly sessions, it may also be taught as an intensive three day programme. Each session lasts two hours. The course uses interactive teaching methods, practical activities, videos and group discussion to engage learners.
